UTT: Mumbai, Pune franchises see ownership changes

MUMBAI: Ultimate Table Tennis, an initiative by the Vita Dani and Niraj Bajaj co-promoted 11Sports, with the support of Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI), has seen a change in ownership of the Mumbai and Pune franchises ahead of UTT’s third season.

The Kotak Group’s Insurekot Sports, which also runs Pro Kabaddi League franchise Puneri Paltan, will own the Pune team, replacing DHFL. The Pune team, which was earlier called Maharashtra United, will reportedly see a name change to Puneri Paltan.   

As for the Mumbai franchise, Ronnie Screwvala’s USports will replace Warriors TTC as Mumbai team owners.

For the record, UTT is a six team league and boasts Star Sports, Hotstar, Jio as broadcast partners.
