MUMBAI: Indian captain Virat Kohli has become the first cricketer to have more than 100 million followers across various social media platforms.
Kohli has 37 million followers on Facebook, 33.5 million followers on Instagram and 29.4 million followers on Twitter.
With regards to Twitter, it is again Tendulkar who is “the next best”, with 28 million followers.
On Instagram as well, Sachin is a distant second with 14.7 million followers, with MS Dhoni coming in third at 13 million followers.
As astounding as Kohli’s following is, it is nowhere near the numbers that the world’s most followed sportsperson – Christiano Ronaldo – stacks up.
The Portuguese football superstar boasts a mind boggling 166 million followers on Instagram alone, with 122 million on Facebook, and 77 million on Twitter.
