CHENNAI: Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj was Thursday elected the new president of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) at its 96th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) held at the Madras Cricket Club here.
“I’m aware that the expectations will be high. Tennis in the country needs a fillip for a better standard. Our team will do its best to give that fillip. Concrete plans will be firmed up shortly,” PTI quotes Amritraj as having told reporters after the AGM.
At this point, I would like to request the support of all in all the endeavours of the Association,” he added.
The new office-bearers will serve a three-year term until 2021.
