KRAFTON INDIA has announced its 2026 esports roadmap during the BGMI International Cup 2025 in New Delhi, outlining the next phase of competitive gaming in the country. The plan sees expanded editions of its flagship tournaments, BGIS, BMPS, BMSD and BMIC, set to take place across multiple Indian cities.
India’s esports landscape continues to evolve rapidly, transitioning from online-only competitions to major arena events followed by millions. Rising corporate investment, government recognition, and growing youth participation have positioned India firmly on the global esports map.
Speaking at the event, KRAFTON India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn said the 2026 roadmap has been designed to offer a clear progression pathway for Indian gamers. He explained that the structure will enable players to advance from regional qualifiers to national tournaments and ultimately compete on international stages.
KRAFTON also introduced the KRAFTON India Awards, an annual initiative to recognise and support gaming talent in the country. The inaugural ceremony will take place in Mumbai on 9 January 2026.
The 2026 esports season will begin with the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS). Registrations open in December 2025, with matches scheduled between January and March 2026. This will be followed by the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) from May to June, featuring the top professional teams and determining India’s representative for the Esports World Cup in Riyadh in July 2026.
Next, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (BMSD) will be held between August and October 2026, bringing elite teams together for a national LAN championship. The season will conclude with the Battlegrounds Mobile India International Cup (BMIC) in October 2026.
