JSW SPORTS HAS announced the signing of Niki Prasad, captain of India’s ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025-winning team, further strengthening its roster of emerging cricket talent.
At just 20, Niki has established herself as one of the most promising young leaders in Indian women’s cricket, with a track record of consistent performances and early leadership success.
Niki’s cricketing journey began early, making her U16 debut at the age of nine before progressing rapidly through the ranks. Within two years, she earned selection in Karnataka’s U19 side and turned professional at just 13. She went on to lead India to a U19 Asia Cup title and subsequently captained the team to World Cup victory in Malaysia in 2025, cementing her reputation as a composed and effective leader. At the franchise level, Niki is part of the Delhi Capitals setup in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she has spent the last two seasons gaining experience at the elite level.
JSW Sports currently manages a strong roster of Indian cricketers, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Axar Patel and emerging talents such as Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Suryansh Shedge. With the addition of Niki Prasad, the company continues to deepen its commitment to women’s cricket and youth development, aligning with the broader growth of the sport in India.
Expressing her excitement, Niki said, “It is a proud moment to join an organisation that has consistently supported athletes across disciplines. Their belief in young talent gives me confidence as I take the next steps in my career.”
JSW Sports said the signing reflects its focus on backing the next generation of Indian athletes. “Niki represents the new generation of Indian cricketers who combine skill, leadership and maturity at a very young age,” said Himanshu Sharma, Head of Talent and Brand Consulting at JSW Sports. “We believe she has immense potential to shape the future of Indian women’s cricket and are excited to support her journey.”
Under JSW Sports, Niki will have access to a comprehensive support system, including high-performance training infrastructure, athlete management expertise and long-term career development guidance. The partnership is expected to play a key role in helping her transition from junior success to sustained performance at the senior international level.
