IN A STEP towards strengthening international grassroots sports development, Spain’s Sports Village Europa and Hyderabad-based Silver Stone Sports Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create global training and development opportunities for young tennis players.
The agreement was signed at the corporate headquarters of Sports Village Europa in Barcelona by Director JoaquÃn Beana MartÃnez, marking the beginning of a long-term collaboration focused on nurturing emerging sporting talent through international exposure, coaching exchanges, and competitive opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hyderabad’s promising young tennis player Mohammed Numan Shamsuddin, Barcelona-based teenage player Asia Beana Firayt, and sports promoter Mohammad Shamsuddin, who played a key role in facilitating the partnership between the two organisations.
Under the partnership, Sports Village Europa and Silver Stone Sports Academy will jointly identify, nurture and promote young sporting talent by creating structured pathways to international training, elite coaching, and overseas competition.
A central component of the collaboration is the exchange of sporting expertise, with experienced European coaches expected to travel to India to conduct advanced coaching programmes, helping young Indian athletes train under internationally recognised methodologies. Conversely, promising Indian players will gain opportunities to experience European training environments and competitive circuits.
Beyond athlete development, the agreement is expected to deepen sporting cooperation between India and Spain by encouraging sustained exchanges of coaching knowledge, sports science, and high-performance training practices.
Officials from both organisations described the MoU as a shared commitment to developing future champions while strengthening sporting relations between the two regions through international collaboration. The initiative is also expected to create new opportunities for talented young athletes to gain international recognition early in their careers.
