Australia bowler Mitchell Starc became the most expensive signing in Indian Premier League history when he was bought for ₹24.75 crore ($3m) by Kolkata Knight Riders.
The left-arm seamer played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL for two seasons in 2014 and 2015 and put himself in the auction, ahead of the 2024 season.
Starc broke the record held by Pat Cummins, who was brought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a sum of ₹20.5 crore barely an hour earlier on Tuesday.
