MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports has announced a contract extension with Petronas as the exclusive fuel supplier to the Moto2 and Moto3 classes.
The contract renewal begins in 2023 and will see the Malaysian giant continue supplying the intermediate and lightweight classes of Grand Prix racing.
The sport moves towards sustainable fuel in 2024 and Petronas will power Moto2 and Moto3 as this new era begins, becoming sustainable fuel partner of both. This new era of competition sees the FIM MotoGP World Championship continue to lead the way as racing laboratory, driving progress and innovation at the forefront of the world’s push towards a more sustainable future.
As well as supplying Moto2 and Moto3 with high-performance, high-quality fuel and powering both into a new, more sustainable era, this agreement also extends to track advertising, with the Petronas name set to retain visibility across the globe throughout the MotoGP season. The name will also take pride of place on the countdown signal boards on the grid for Moto2 and Moto3.
