Bangladesh probe into team withdrawal from T20 WC

BANGLADESH’S MINISTRY of Youth and Sports has formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the national team’s withdrawal from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Bangladesh cited security concerns in India after Kolkata Knight Riders released fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL squad. The BCB also sought to have Bangladesh’s matches relocated to Sri Lanka, but the ICC rejected the request and replaced Bangladesh with Scotland.

The committee, constituted by a government order dated May 10, will be headed by former additional secretary Dr AKM Oli Ullah, with former captain and chief selector Habibul Bashar and Supreme Court lawyer Faisal Dastagir as members. The panel has been given 15 working days to submit its findings.
