NEW DELHI: Following its latest round of elections, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has unanimously elected Brijbhushan Singh as its president for a third successive term.
Singh alongside other re-elected office bearers will be holding their positions till 2022.
The elections were held under the supervision of the Himachal Pradesh HC judge (retd) Justice R B Misra on Sunday. Singh will once again have ID Nanavati as his deputy while VN Prasood and Satyapal Deshwal remain secretary general and treasurer respectively.
The WFI created history last year by being the first non-cricket sporting organisation in India to introduce central contracts for Indian wrestlers and clinching a massive corporate sponsorship deal with the reputed Tata Motors brand, reportedly worth Rs 180 million till 2021.
