Cricket Canada enters new leadership era after historic AGM

CRICKET CANADA concluded its Annual General Meeting in Toronto on May 9, 2026, electing a fully renewed Board of Directors across nine positions, including president, vice president, secretary, two directors-at-Large, and two player representatives.

A notable addition to the board’s composition is the introduction of dedicated Player Representative positions, one male and one female, ensuring active players have a voice at the governance level. Two existing board positions were also vacated to allow for new appointments.

The AGM marks the culmination of a governance reform process initiated in fall 2025, with a key milestone reached at a Special General Meeting on April 9, 2026, facilitated by an independent, court-appointed chair, a media release said.

Cricket Canada Vice President, Ranjit Chaudhri, said, “Today’s AGM is the result of a member-led process a fully democratic exercise of the rights our membership has always held. The mandate is clear: to build a Cricket Canada that is accountable, transparent, and relentlessly focused on the game. Our three priorities — creating real competitive pathways for our players, investing in the infrastructure our sport deserves from coast to coast, and cementing governance reforms that earn trust by design — are not aspirations. They are commitments. I am confident Canadian cricket is entering one of its strongest chapters yet.”
