MUMBAI: Star India president & head – ad sales Amit Chopra has quit the company. As the head of ad sales, Chopra’s responsibility included generating ad revenues for entertainment, digital, and sports.
Chopra will reportedly be joining India focused private equity firm Samara Capital.
Chopra joined Star in 2013 to lead sales. A year later, he took on the role of revenue head, managing profits for distribution and ad sales. Post that, he was CEO of Entertainment at Star, overseeing the business delivery of Star’s entertainment channels – drama and movie channels in Hindi, English, Bengali, and Marathi.
Prior to his stints in Star India, Chopra was the CEO of Hindustan Media Ventures, a public listed arm of the HT Media Group.
