VDHM ’25 raises ₹3.75cr for social causes; crosses ₹85cr mark since inception

VEDANTA DELHI HALF MARATHON (VDHM) 2025 united citizens, corporates, and not-for-profits in a powerful celebration of giving. Partnering with over 60 NGOs, 15 corporates, and more than 60 individual fundraisers, the event successfully mobilised over ₹3.75 crore in support of diverse social causes, as per an official release.

Since its inception in 2005, the marathon has now raised a cumulative ₹85 crore, positively impacting millions of lives.

For the first time, Lakshyaa joined as the event’s philanthropy partner, setting a new fundraising benchmark and expanding the platform’s reach.

What makes VDHM unique is its cause-neutral philosophy, empowering individuals and organisations to support the issues closest to their hearts. This year’s edition represented 16 diverse causes across the development spectrum, including education, healthcare, cancer care, organ transplants, disability inclusion, child welfare, and livelihood generation.

The fundraising figures include ₹3.04 crore from corporates, ₹47 lakh from individual fundraisers, ₹7 lakh in direct donations, and ₹13 lakh through charity bibs and offline contributions. Additionally, participants contributed ₹2.5 lakh during registration toward their chosen causes. Donations remain open until 28 October via the Lakshyaa website.

As the event’s title sponsor, Vedanta continues to champion its social initiative, #RunForZeroHunger, through Nand Ghar. Over the past three editions, the movement has facilitated nearly 20 million meals. For 2025, Vedanta has pledged 5m Poshan Packs, nutrient-rich supplements for children, equivalent to one pack for every kilometre run. Vedanta employees are also contributing meals, amplifying the campaign’s impact.

Vedanta general manager-CSR and head governance Khurram Naayaab said, “We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Procam and the Run for Zero initiative. Through this program, we’ve already delivered 1.7m portion packs, and this year we’re targeting 5m. But what makes this truly special is seeing our 270,000 women beneficiaries transform from recipients of support into changemakers themselves. They’re now driving impact in their communities across 9,000+ nutrition centres in 15 states. This is the power of sustainable, community-driven change.”

Procam International joint managing director Vivek Singh added, “Over two decades, the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon has been instrumental in breaking barriers in India, whether it is making long-distance running more accessible, encouraging more women to participate, providing an equal platform for all including people with disabilities, or bridging the gap between running for personal fitness and running for social good. Today, this platform is no longer just about sport; it has become a people’s movement, championing causes that matter and inspiring change at scale.”
