A year and three odd months after reports first surfaced that Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli was looking to end his long-term association with Puma to team up with Indian athleisure firm Agilitas Sports as brand ambassador and investor, the “parting of ways” with the German sportswear giant is reportedly at hand.
By the looks of things, Puma enforced the contract terms inked in 2017 that had signed Kohli on to an eight year-association worth an astronomical Rs 110 crore.
Having seen his contract through, the star cricketer is now set to join Agilitas as an investor, Mint quotes “multiple people aware of the matter” as having said.
For the record, Agilitas Sports, was set up in mid-2023 by then Puma India MD Abhishek Ganguly, along with co-founders Atul Bajaj and Amit Prabhu (both also top tier Puma India alum) with a seed funding war chest of Rs 470 crore.
