KRAFTON INDIA, the publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has announced the launch of the third edition of its gaming incubator programme, the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI). Registrations open on 20 September.
First introduced in 2023, KIGI has become a springboard for new talent, backing 10 studios across its first two cohorts with financial investment, hands-on mentorship, and access to global platforms. The third cohort aims to expand these opportunities, providing India’s emerging creators with stronger resources to accelerate their game development journeys, per the release.
This year, the programme will also be supported by the Google for Startups Cloud Programme, giving founders access to cutting-edge AI tools and cloud infrastructure. Alongside Google Cloud, KIGI collaborates with a wide ecosystem of partners including AWS, AccelByte, Lysto, AppMagic, and Liftoff’s GameRefinery, offering expertise across cloud solutions, backend integration, analytics, user acquisition, and AI-powered playtesting.
KRAFTON India Incubator Program head Anuj Sahani said, “With each cohort, KIGI is proving that world-class games can be built right here in India. We’ve created an ecosystem that gives creators what they need to turn big ideas into scalable, successful games. The response to our first two cohorts has been incredible, and with Cohort 3, we’re deepening our commitment to support bold, diverse talent from every corner of the country.”
KRAFTON India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn added, “Our vision is to empower the next generation of Indian game developers and shape India into a global creative force. Through KIGI, we’re strengthening the local ecosystem and supporting studios that will define the future of gaming from India. We’re committed to nurturing a thriving environment where innovation, talent, and ambition can flourish.”
