MUMBAI: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive television and digital rights for Copa America 2021 in the Indian sub-continent till December 31. 

The broadcast territories will include India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament will be aired in India LIVE on SPN’s sports channels and live streamed on SonyLIV, SPN’s OTT streaming platform, from June 14 to July 11.

LAUSANNE: FIDE has signed a historic global partnership agreement with Chessable, making it one of the sponsors for the World Chess Championship cycle, the Olympiad, and the World Rapid and Blitz. Sister company chess24 acquires broadcast rights for top FIDE events from 2021 until 2026.

MUMBAI: The Star India network, which owns a majority stake in Mashal Sports, commercial rights holder of the Pro Kabaddi League, has, as expected, retained the media rights to the PKL for the next five seasons. Mashal Sports announced at the weekend that it had successfully concluded its PKL media rights auction for five Seasons (Season 8 to Season 12) to be held during 2021-2025.

MILAN, Italy: Italy’s Lega Serie A has appointed Infront to manage its international media rights for all platforms across Europe, Asia, Oceania, sub-Saharan Africa and Americas (excl. USA) for the next three seasons from 2021/22 to 2023/24. The Lega Assembly ratified Infront’s proposal for the commercialisation of the league’s worldwide media rights inventory through a unanimous vote.
