LONDON: All-electric street racing returns to the virtual world with a fresh new esports series - Formula E Accelerate.

The new Formula E Accelerate esports competition will see a grid made up of the 12 teams from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and they are on the hunt for the fastest sim racers to join their ranks. Racers will have the chance to showcase their speed in the Formula E Accelerate Qualifiers.Teams will then have an opportunity to select from at least three of the fastest qualifiers. These sim racers will then go on to represent an official Formula E team and compete for the chance to win a share from a minimum €100,000 prize pool alongside a once-in-a-lifetime real-world drive of a Gen2 car.

The new Accelerate series follows on from the Formula E Race at Home Challenge, a virtual championship launched during the first peak of the global health crisis last year.

The Formula E Accelerate Qualifiers close at 23:59 on 13 January.
