Federation of International Cricketers' Association

June 21: The Federation of International Cricketers' Association, a players' body that the monopolistic BCCI does not recognise, has appointed former Australian cricketer Lisa Sthalekar as its president.

The appointment was made official at the FICA executive committee meeting held in Nyon, Switzerland, this week.

Sthalekar is the first woman president of FICA as she joins the list of past players who have been FICA presidents since its formation, including Barry Richards, Jimmy Adams and most recently Vikram Solanki.

MUMBAI: After Indian media made much ado about nothing over the BCCI's approval for the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA), the body formed as per the board’s new constitution to look after the interest of former (emphasis ours) players, a real (again emphasis ours) players’ association has responded.
