Star Sports to telecast KPL 2017

BENGALURU: Star Sports has come aboard as broadcast partner for the sixth edition of the Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League, powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has announced.

The sportscaster will telecast live all matches of the tournament, which will run from 1-23 September across three venues – Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hubbali.

With Star Sports on board, the tournament will have enhanced quality of production, especially with the addition of super slow-motion and ultra-motion cameras, along with commentary panel filled with international superstars, including Brett Lee, Michael Hussey, Daniel Vettori and Dean Jones. The other commentators are ex-India and Karnataka stars Venkatesh Prasad, Sunil Joshi, former Karnataka batsman Fazal Khaleel, former India opener VB Chandrashekar and noted sports presenter Charu Sharma. The telecast will also be presented by noted anchors Mayanti Langer and Sanjana Ganesan.

KPL 2017 will be played in the memory of S.D.N.R Wadiyar, former president of the KSCA and scion of the Mysore royal family.

Fitness partner

KSCA has partnered with Cult.fit as the official fitness partner of KPL 2017.

Cult.fit will vet the fitness of the players and give away the “Fittest player of the match” award during the presentation ceremony after every match as also the ‘Fittest player of the series’ at the end of the tournament. Through its mobile application, Cult.fit offers key stakeholders in the KPL an opportunity to track their progress and keep up to date with modern fitness techniques.

KPL 2017 will be played in the memory of SDNR Wadiyar, former president of the KSCA and scion of the Mysore royal family. The 2017 edition kicks off on 1 September in Bengaluru, before moving to Mysuru and Hubbali. The seven-team tournament finale is scheduled for 23 September in Hubbali.
