MUMBAI: India's rating on compliance with global anti doping regulations has improved to 71 per cent, according to National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) director general Navin Agarwal.

Agarwal, who attended the sixth conference of the International Convention against Doping in Sport, organised by UNESCO in Paris recently, told The Hindu that the stress at the convention was "on strengthening anti-doping programmes in various countries and enhance compliance.”

“There are several countries which want to comply with the code but are not able to do so due to the lack of education and awareness. So the importance was on propagating value based education programme on anti-doping," he said.

Agarwal said the need to support poor countries in the field of anti-doping was also discussed at the conference.
