LONDON: Formula 1 has confirmed that its plans to hold a grand prix in Miami this year have not borne fruit and has instead pushed the race's intended debut to 2020.

Sean Bratches, managing director of Commercial Operations at Formula 1, states: “In the last few months we have worked diligently alongside our promoter Stephen Ross of RSE Ventures, the city of Miami and Miami Dade County, to realise our ambition to bring a Formula 1 Grand Prix to Miami, and we have made significant progress: however, these are complicated negotiations.

LONDON: Formula One has confirmed plans to stage a street race Grand Prix race in downtown Miami in 2019 with a vote scheduled next week by the City of Miami Commission on a proposal to formalize plans for a 10-year deal. A Miami race would be the second in the US, joining the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas and the the fourth in North America, joining races in Canada and Mexico City.
