MUMBAI: 9stacks, India’s fastest growing online poker company is preparing to up the game even further by taking 100 poker players from the country to Melbourne, Australia to play during the prestigious Aussie Millions poker tournament. MUMBAI: The Poker Sports League is set to return for a second season with ten franchises, and an increased prize kitty of Rs 36 million. PSL will this year hold auctions for two new franchises. The original ten franchises have been locked in for the next eight years with a commitment to spend Rs1.5 billion. The prize money in the first season was Rs 15 million.

MUMBAI: A new team-based poker competition will soon enter the Indian market with the launch of GPL India. The regional league will include six teams covering India’s “largest and most poker-friendly” cities, reports Gutshot Magazine. Teams from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad will have a mix of Global Poker Index (GPI) pro players as well as “grassroots” qualifiers.
