NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has decided to allow 50% spectators during the India-England T20 International series at the Narendra Modi Stadium here owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The series, comprising five matches, kicks off with the first game at 7 pm on Friday, and the final fixture slated to be played on March 20.

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board and the franchises, the PSL Governing Council, are aiming to reschedule the remaining 20 HBL Pakistan Super League 6 matches to June in Karachi.  This was unanimously agreed by the six franchise owners and the PCB in a virtual meeting held on Thursday afternoon and after taking into consideration all factors relating to event organisation.

Based on the terms of the arrangement, Rajasthan Royals will sport the logo of Studds on the leading side of playing headgear including helmet and caps during the 14th and 15th editions of the league.

MUMBAI: Disney+ Hotstar, official streaming partner of the Indian Premier League, announced Wednesday that ten sponsors had already come on board for this year’s VIVO IPL 2021. The IPL will begin in Chennai from 9 April with defending champion Mumbai Indians taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore. The final will be held on 30 May at the Ahmedabad's freshly re-badged Narendra Modi Stadium.
