NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The inaugural edition of the T20 Global League has been postponed to November 2018. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cricket South Africa and T20 Global League boards on Tuesday. The tournament had hit a roadblock with the failure of the organisers to secure a broadcast deal, followed by the exit of CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat a fortnight ago.

DUBAI: A new Nielsen study  to investigate awareness of the Women’s World Cup, unveiled by the ICC on Monday, indicates that 82 per cent of those surveyed followed the event more than any other women’s cricket event previously and overall 67 per cent of respondents said they would now take a greater interest in the women’s game following the World Cup.
