NEW DELHI: BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit chief Ajit Singh Shekhawat has proposed a match-fixing law, besides legalisation of betting, to tackle corruption in Indian cricket.  This was after 12 cricketers, including national and international, reported corrupt approaches in the last one year. The Tamil Nadu Premier League has come under scanner for suspect activity.

NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry has de-recognised the Paralympic Committee of India, citing violation of the National Sports Code in the body's decision to sack PCI president Rao Inderjit Singh. In the suspension order issued on Monday, accessed by PTI, the ministry wrote that the PCI has been penalised for misgovernance.

MUMBAI: The power skirmishes between the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators and the "old guard" of the Board of Control for Cricket in India continues. The CoA on Sunday issued a show-cause notice to Amitabh Choudhary, acting secretary of the BCCI, over his absence during the International Cricket Council's (ICC) conference in July. The ICC conference was scheduled from July 14 to 20.

NEW DELHI: Dinesh Karthik, captain of IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has tendered an “unconditional apology” for violating BCCI’s Central clause by watching a Caribbean Premier League game from the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned Trinbago Knight Riders’ dressing room. Khan also co-owns KKR, which probably explains why Karthik was togged out in TKR colours and in the player area of the CPL team.
