NEW DELHI: Special Olympics Bharat has appointed former ONGC executive director V.K. Mahendru as its executive director.
In his new role, Mahendru will oversee all aspects of the organisation and management, while also serving as a mentor.

MUSCAT, Oman: Doha, capital city of Qatar, will host the Olympic Council of Asia’s 21st Asian Games in 2030.
Doha beat Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a vote of 45 National Olympic Committees at the 39th OCA General Assembly held here and online on Wednesday, December 16.
Doha lasted hosted the Asian Games in 2006.
Riyadh will host the 22nd Asian Games in 2034.

LAUSANNE: International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach will be the only candidate for the presidential election to be held during the 137th IOC Session in Athens in March 2021, it was announced Tuesday.
As decided by the IOC executive board, the elected president will take office after the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, which will take place from 23 July to 8 August 2021.
