TOKYO: Whilst spectators may not be able to attend Tokyo 2020 in person, fans around the world and in Japan will be able to experience the thrill of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 thanks to new, innovative technologies. Tokyo 2020 will be broadcast globally to a potential audience of over 5 billion people, with more coverage by broadcast partners than any previous Olympic Games across both linear TV and digital:

    In Japan, TV coverage of Tokyo 2020 is expected to be around double that of Rio 2016.

LONDON: The BBC plans to broadcast 1,000 extra hours of live sport a year online as it attempts to "reinvent free-to-air sports broadcasting". NEW DELHI: Public broadcaster Doordarshan plans to have a dual programming feed for DD Sports, its sports channel. A separate feed with different programming will be aired on the channel carried by cable and private DTH platforms, even as DD Sports continues to air sporting events on its terrestrial network and DD Free Dish.

MUMBAI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which will  host the World XI side in Lahore in mid-September for three T20 exhibition matches, will be spending big to ensure its success. The PCB, which will spend an estimated $3 million on the series, says it is not looking at making any profits from it but is viewing it as a step towards the revival of international cricket in the country.
