International Olympic Committee (IOC)

The Indian Olympic Association, which has been dragging its feet for more than a year on the International Olympic Committee's demand that it appoint a professional chief executive, will finally re-initiate the hiring process after being called out by the IOC. 

The IOA executive council, which met in Mumbai on Tuesday, decided to issue a new advertisement for the post. The CEO will be an ex-officio member of the IOA executive council without voting rights.

NEW DELHI: After the Union government's grand ignore to a missive sent by the International Olympic Committee nearly two months ago, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has interceded on IOC's behalf and issued a fresh letter. IOA president Narinder Batra has written to Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, urging him to address the issue at the earliest.

MUMBAI: The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has reportedly given the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) till August to secure assurances from the Centre that it will be in compliance with the Olympic Charter. If the NRAI is not able to get the government's sign-off on this, then the ISSF will likely move the 2020 World Cup out from New Delhi,Times of India reports.

SPN will provide comprehensive coverage of the two mega events across its broadcast and digital platforms. Financial terms were not disclosed.
