GUWAHATI: Assam's financial capital Guwahati will play host to the third edition of Khelo India Youth Games in January next, state chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said while chairing the first high-powered review meeting here Thursday.   Sonowal said the state machinery, including sports bodies, should make the best innovation for successfully organising the games in the city.

NEW DELHI: Despite controversies surrounding its eligibility courtesy the Sports Ministry, the Archery Association of India (AAI) has announced that the national qualifying championships for the Archery World Cup will be conducted from 15-19 April in the city, Press Trust of India reports.

PUNE: The Khelo India Youth Games (KYIG) 2019 ended on Sunday with the host state Maharashtra winning the Overall Trophy with 228 medals, which include 85 gold, 62 silver and 81 bronze wins respectively.

PUNE: Ever since the Khelo India Youth Games were flagged off a little over a week ago in the Maharashtrian city, teams of talent spotters have been at work at the various venues. They have been brought in by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in relays to track performances in their assigned events and present a short list of those found worthy of following on a long-term basis.

PUNE: The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) is using the Khelo India Youth Games here to conduct mass awareness programmes for the 6000 competing athletes from around the country. NADA director general Navin Aggarwal was at hand to speak with some athletes who attended the anti-doping awareness session on Wednesday.
