Portuguese supertar Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the Forbes list of the highest-paid athletes for a second year running.

Ronaldo also headed the list last year following his move to Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr.

The latest list of the highest-paid athletes released by Forbes reveals that the 39-year-old Portuguese forward earned $260 million over the past 12 months, up from $136m in the business magazine's 2023 listing.

NEW DELHI: In the Union budget presented in Parliament on Monday for the financial year 2021-22, the Central government allocated Rs 2,596.14 crore (Rs 25.9614 billion) for sports, a reduction of Rs 230.78 crore (Rs 2.3078 billion) from what was allocated in the previous fiscal, IANS reports.

MUMBAI: E-sports and mobile gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL) announced Thursday that it had raised $500,000 (about Rs 36.5 million) from existing employees as part of its Employee Investment Plan.  The Employee Investment Plan, which was announced in December 2020, was open to all employees of MPL. They could invest anywhere between $2,300 and $23,000 in the company to acquire stock.

According to reports, Ganguly was taken to Kolkata's Apollo Hospital in after he complained of chest pain this morning. Earlier this month, Ganguly was admitted to Woodlands Hospital after suffering a "mild" cardiac arrest.
