NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has terminated the services of its general manager KVP Rao.  Rao thanked the Indian cricket board for giving him an opportunity to contribute to the game in the country. He also added that the termination "was the best day of his life" as the termination will provide him ample opportunities to further his professional skills elsewhere.

NEW DELHI: Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi has written to Delhi and District Cricket Association president Rohan Jaitley, demanding his name be removed from a stand at the Feroz Shah Kotla and renouncing his membership in the body. Reason: His "deep sense of embarrassment" over plans to install a statue of the late BJP leader Arun Jaitley, a former DDCA president, at the stadium.
