United World Wrestling (UWW), which has been operating in lock-stop with the tainted Wrestling Federation of India for months now, has suspended vociferous WFI critic Bajrang Punia till the end of this year.

Reason? NADA's decision to hand him a provisional suspension for refusing to undergo a dope test. It bears noting that while the UWW has shown unseemly haste to take action against Bajrang, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), while aware of NADA's order, has sanctioned close to Rs 9 lakh ($10,800) for his training abroad.

NEW DELHI: The Association of Indian Football Coaches (AIFC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Football Coaches Australia (FCA) for the development of football in both the countries.  The AIFC statement said that both bodies have joined forces to promote enrollment of female coaches and make football more accessible for all participants.

NEW DELHI: India’s Davis Cup captain Rohit Rajpal has been elected as president of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) for a second straight four-year term. Rajpal’s re-election to the post was unanimous at the DLTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, and so was former Davis Cupper Balram Singh’s election as secretary general (Sports), PTI reports.

RANCHI: The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has sent a proposal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for permission to host its domestic Twenty20 tournament from September 10-27.  If it secures the BCCI all-clear, JSCA will arguably be the first cricketing body in the country to kick off cricketing action since a nationwide lockdown was imposed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
