The Playmakers have launched a comprehensive glossary and open-access resources to increase awareness around India's sport-for-development landscape.

MUMBAI: With the announcement that ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, due to take place across Australia in October and November, has been postponed and the present COVID-19 situation in India, the BCCI and ECB have confirmed that England men’s white-ball tour to India, originally scheduled in the ICC Future Tours Programme for late September to early October, will be postponed until early 2021.

NEW DELHI: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Wednesday shortlisted 258 athletes from across 12 sporting disciplines and they will be a part of the TOPS Developmental Group. This is a step towards grooming athletes for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics and the athletes have been shortlisted by SAI's Mission Olympic Cell, including the 85 selected before the lockdown.

NEW YORK: The NBA Board of Governors announced Wednesday that it will contribute $300 million in initial funding to establish the first-ever NBA Foundation dedicated to creating greater economic empowerment in the Black community.   The foundation is being launched in partnership with the National Basketball Players Association.

MUMBAI: Bowing to the inevitable, the BCCI confirmed Thursday that Vivo has dropped the baton on title rights for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League.  The Indian cricket board sent out a one-line statement on Thursday afternoon, stating: "The BCCI and Vivo Mobile India Pvt Ltd have decided to suspend their partnership for Indian Premier League in 2020 (emphasis ours)."

MADRID: Organisers of the Mutua Madrid Open on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the tournament's 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ATP Masters 1000 event is typically held in May, but was rescheduled to September because of the virus. Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, the tournament made a decision in conjunction with local authorities to cancel the event.
