The merger scheme between Reliance Industries Limited’s (RIL) Viacom18, its wholly owned subsidiary Digital18 and The Walt Disney Company’s Star India has been admitted by the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). In an order passed on May 7, Viacom18, as part of internal restructuring, has proposed to transfer the various businesses conducted by it into its wholly-owned subsidiary, namely Digital18. Viacom18 proposed to be the holding company for the various businesses.

MUMBAI: At present, most of the match-fixing cases which are being investigated by the International Cricket Council have originated from India, Steve Richardson, coordinator of investigations at ICC's Anti-Corruption Unite (ACU), has revealed.  As per reports, fixers are now targeting state leagues as well as lesser-known competitions rather than the major events like the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MUMBAI: Sri Lanka's former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has gain raised the bogey of match-fixing that has surfaced on and off around the 2011 World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka in Mumbai.  At the iconic Wankhede Stadium, the Men in Blue, led by MS Dhoni, won by six wickets with 10 balls to spare and it was the first instance of a team, winning the mega event on home soil.

NEW DELHI: The International Hockey Federation on Friday ruled that the complaint of irregularity filed by IOA vice-president Sudhanshu Mittal against FIH president Narinder Batra "is not sustained". In his complaint, Mittal had accused Batra of violating the FIH's statues by holding the post of Hockey India (HI) president when he was elected FIH head in November 2016.
