The merger scheme between Reliance Industries Limited’s (RIL) Viacom18, its wholly owned subsidiary Digital18 and The Walt Disney Company’s Star India has been admitted by the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). In an order passed on May 7, Viacom18, as part of internal restructuring, has proposed to transfer the various businesses conducted by it into its wholly-owned subsidiary, namely Digital18. Viacom18 proposed to be the holding company for the various businesses.

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed a petition requesting the Supreme Court to take up the case on extension of tenure of its office-bearers, Telegraph India reports. While BCCI secretary Jay Shah will have to go into compulsory cooling-off period next month, board president Sourav Ganguly’s term ends in July. Both were elected unopposed on October 23, 2019.

In 2016, Tendulkar entered into a worldwide exclusive sponsorship agreement with Spartan to promote its sporting goods and sportswear.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation's (AIFF) technical committee has recommended that the 3 + 1 (Asian) foreign recruit rule be applicable in the domestic league competitions from the 2021 season. The Asian Football Confederation has recommended these regulations for participation in AFC Club competitions.

LAUSANNE: The executive board (EB) of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has decided to postpone the 47th FIH Congress, initially planned on 28 October-1 November in New Delhi, to May 2021. The exact date will be confirmed as soon as possible. FIH had pre-informed all 137 national associations in April about a potential change of dates for the Congress.

NEW DELHI: After the Boxing Federation of India claimed that that the International Boxing Association "acted in haste" in taking away the 2021 men's world championship from the country for non-payment of host city fees, AIBA revealed that BFI has still not paid "almost two thirds" of the host city fees for conducting the 2018 women's world championship.
