MUMBAI: Match No. 32 of IPL 2022 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, which was shifted from MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai due to COVID-19 outbreak in the DC team, finally went ahead on schedule. 

The developments came even as a second overseas player of Delhi Capitals tested positive. This came just hours ahead of the team's game against Punjab Kings. 

New Zealand's Tim Seifert tested positive after a Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Wednesday afternoon, making it the sixth such case in the camp.

NEW DELHI: Golfers have taken the lead in announcing the first sporting event in India since the country was placed under COVID-19 lockdown in late March. Top Indian professional golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar will join former Indian cricketers Kapil Dev and Murali Kartik for an exhibition match to raise funds for COVID Relief at Delhi Golf Club on July 11.

NEW DELHI: Sports equipment maker Cosco (India) Ltd on Thursday said the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the company's business and it expects normalcy in operations only after the second quarter of this fiscal. In a regulatory filing disclosing the impact of COVID-19, the company said it has adequate liquidity and is servicing its debt and other financial obligations on time, PTI reports.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced that the Indian cricket team will not travel to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe owing to the current threat of COVID-19.  Team India was originally scheduled to travel to the Emerald Isles from 24th June for three ODIs and as many T20Is and to Zimbabwe for a series comprising three ODIs starting 22nd August.

MUMBAI: Even as speculatiom is rife (particularly in the Indian media) that the the COVID-19 pandemic will force the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia to be cancalled / postponed, the country’s sports minister, Richard Colbeck, has said the tournament could still be possible. And that too with spectators, though with limits on the numbers allowed.
