Tennis Premier League plans tournaments across Gujarat

As part of its drive to keep the tennis fraternity engaged, especially at the junior level, the Tennis Premier League (TPL) has started its initiative with the Gujarat State Tennis Association (GSTA) to have a series of tournaments across the State.

There will be tournaments in different cities and the winners will compete in the Masters event to be held in Ahmedabad. Boys and girls in the under-10, 12 and 14 age groups apart from men and women would stand to gain scholarships.

Serious corruption at lower tiers of tennis: Study
LONDON: Tennis is facing serious integrity problems at the lower tiers of the game, a two-year investigation into corruption within the sport has determiined. Published Wednesday, the report by the Independent Review Panel (IRP) was commissioned in February 2016 after a BBC and BuzzFeed News investigation uncovered suspected illegal betting on the eve of that year's Australian Open.

Tennis Australia submits A$1bn bid to revamp Melbourne Park
MELBOURNE: Tennis Australia has reportedly launched a secret A$1 billion ($760 million) bid made to the Victoria state government seeking controlling rights of the venue of the first Grand Slam of of year.
