MADRID: LaLiga has launched an invitation to tender (ITT) for the audiovisual rights to the competition within the Indian Subcontinent, offering a range of packages to help the competition build on its growing presence in the region.

Bidders have been invited to submit offers for the 2021/22 season onwards, covering a minimum of three and a maximum of five seasons. 

While issuing its ITT, LaLiga declared it was "very satisfied" with incumbent rights holder Facebook, which "has provided data to demonstrate consistent growth in the Indian Subcontinent".

LONDON: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, principal owner of Manchester City FC, has purchased the 1896–1910 Football Association Challenge Cup (FA Cup), after it was put up for auction recently. It was originally feared that the trophy - considered by The Arts Council to be an item of International Historic Significance - would be privately purchased and taken overseas.

MUMBAI: The BCCI is reportedly set to notify a base price of Rs 15 billion for potential suitors planning to bid for any one of the two new Indian Premier League teams that will put up for auction from the 2022 season. Which is a fair number considering that in 2018, when JSW took a 50% stake in then Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), it was at a valuation of Rs 11 billion.

MUSCAT, Oman: Doha, capital city of Qatar, will host the Olympic Council of Asia’s 21st Asian Games in 2030. Doha beat Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a vote of 45 National Olympic Committees at the 39th OCA General Assembly held here and online on Wednesday, December 16.  Doha lasted hosted the Asian Games in 2006. Riyadh will host the 22nd Asian Games in 2034.
