NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Cricket will join the UAE’s 'Year of the Fiftieth' 50th National Day celebrations on 2 December with a festival of cricket taking place at Zayed Cricket Stadium.   The UAE’s golden jubilee will be honoured during the Abu Dhabi T10, with host side Team Abu Dhabi wearing special commemorative shirts with ‘50’ on the back of each players’ jersey in the colours of the national flag.

As the usually reliable Vijay tagore of Cricbuzz reports, the governing council of the Indian Premier League is expected to give a "formal nod" to CVC for the Ahmedabad franchise, "unless there is an unlikely last minute twist", on December 3.
