The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has approved 22 sports for inclusion in the LA28 Paralympic Games.

The 22 sports include badminton and taekwondo, which were staged for the first time at Tokyo 2020. The same 22 sports will be contested at Paris 2024.

Additionally LA28 organisers have also been given the opportunity to explore the inclusion of para climbing or para surfing on the programme, and if these sports are put forward for consideration, a final decision will be taken by the IPC Governing Board by the end of 2023

With one year to go to the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024, the local Organising Committee (YOGOC) has Thursday unveiled its official mascot “Moongcho”, song and choreography.  All three of these were developed by young people in Korea. The YOGOC also appointed b-girl and YOG medallist Yeri Kim as an honorary ambassador.

LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Wednesday announced that Viacom18 Media Private Limited (Viacom18) has secured the exclusive media rights to broadcast the Olympic Games Paris 2024, plus non-exclusive rights to the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

World Athletics on Tuesday announced the automatic qualifying standards for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The standards are the toughest ever for a global championship as World Athletics is aiming for just 50% of entrants to come via the standard, with the remaining 50% to be determined by world ranking.
