U Sports moots formation of e-sports federation with Sports Ministry

MUMBAI: U Sports founder Ronnie Screwvala and its co-founder and CEO Supratik Sen are in talks with the Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs for the creation of a federation for e-sports.

With 206 million gamers, 10 million serious gamers and 300 million e-sports fans across the world, the e-sports segment has grown over the years.

Taking a note of it, Screwvala and Sen are in conversation with the Sports Ministry for formation of the E-Sports Federation of India, a media release states.

Season 1 of E-Sports c'ship premieres on MTV
MUMBAI: U Sports, in association with MTV, premiered their new month-long championship, U Cypher with MTV on Friday.  The show will air every day from 10pm to 11pm on MTV. Backed by Ronnie Screwvala (founder, U Sports) and Supratik Sen (co-founder & CEO, U Sports), the league is a multi-platform, multi-game E-Sports championship which comprises of 35 episodes.
