BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Football Association (KSFA) is planning to organize the first ever state-level franchise-based football competition during May-June 2019, when the Indian Super League (ISL) will have its off season, Times of India reports.

The competition, which is expected to be called the Karnataka Football League (KFL), is proposed to have eight teams participating from across the state with all games to be played at the Bangalore Football Stadium.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has alerted the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of bookies attempting to fix matches by approaching players in the ongoing Karnataka Premier League (KPL) T20 competition in the state, Hindustan Times reports. The KSCA has the players to thank as they have already reported these approaches to the ACU officials.

MUMBAI: The Karbonn Karnataka Premier League (KPL) seems to have benefited largely from its official broadcast partner, Star India’s strategy of making Kannada commentary available with select operators in the state. According to BARC India, the tournament has seen a 60% rise in viewership numbers for the first three matches of the competition that began on August 15 this year and will end on September 6.

BENGALURU: Star Sports has come aboard as broadcast partner for the sixth edition of the Karbonn Smartphones Karnataka Premier League, powered by Cycle Pure Agarbathies, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has announced. The sportscaster will telecast live all matches of the tournament, which will run from 1-23 September across three venues – Bengaluru, Mysuru and Hubbali.
