FIBA extends long running tech partnership

MIES (Switzerland): FIBA, the world governing body of basketball, and Genius Sports, a global leader in sports data, technology and integrity services, Thursday announced a long-term renewal of their landmark partnership.

Since 2004, FIBA and Genius Sports have worked closely together to develop and deploy ground-breaking technology that has transformed the data and digital infrastructure of over 200 basketball leagues and federations worldwide.

Pvt equity firm Apax acquires sports data company Genius
LONDON: Private equity firm Apax Partners LLP Monday announced a definitive agreement to acquire sports data technology company Genius Sports Group.  The stake was acquired from Genius Sports' founders, management, funds advised by Three Hills Capital Partners and other minority shareholders. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 2018. Financial terms were not disclosed.
