BENGALURU: Shreyas Hareesh from Bengaluru and Kolhapur’s Jinendra Kiran Sangave qualified to represent India in the FIM MiniGP World Series Finals to be held in November in Valencia, Spain.

Shreyas (220 points) and Jinendra (213) finished first and second respectively in the FIM MiniGP World Series India 2022 which concluded at the Meco Kartopia here on Sunday. In the World Finals, the pair will compete with toppers of respective National series held in 15 countries.

8 kids selected for FIM MiniGP World Series India

BENGALURU: Eight children, including two girls, in the age group of 10-14 years, made it to the first batch of riders to participate in the FIM MiniGP World Series India 2022 following two sessions of tryouts and evaluation by experts at the Meco Kartopia track, here on Saturday, July 2. The full grid of 15 riders will be announced later this month after a similar exercise in north India.

MADRID: India has been announced as the newest Cup to join Dorna’s Road to MotoGP franchise - the FIM MiniGP World Series. The FIM MiniGP India Series joins Australia, Austria, Indonesia, Japan and Qatar as additions for 2022, adding to the 10 Series that began in 2021: Alpe Adria, France, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, North America, Portugal, Spain and the UK.

MADRID: The FIM MiniGP Indonesia Series was one of the first to be accepted into the all-new FIM MiniGP World Series, set to provide another opportunity for riders across Indonesia to begin their Road to MotoGP™. Unfortunately, the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has now obliged the FIM MiniGP Indonesia Series to be postponed for 2021. Therefore, Indonesia will not be represented in the first World Final this year.

FIM MiniGP Austrian series to flag off in 2022

MADRID: The FIM MiniGP Austrian Series will be the second Cup added to the 2022 FIM MiniGP World Series. The Cup will have five rounds, beginning in May and ending in August, at circuits around Austria. The Cup will begin at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and end in the same place, with three dates in between the season opener and the finale.

MADRID: Federations and CONUs (continental unions) can now apply to be included in the 2022 FIM MiniGP World Series on the Road to MotoGP, with applications open until the 28th of February 2022.
