Inaugural Rs5m QA InfoTech Open tees off in Noida

NEW DELHI: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, teed off the inaugural QA InfoTech Open at the Noida Golf Course Tuesday. 

The event runs from Tuesday through to Friday. 

The tournament, which is the 13th event of the PGTI’s 2018 season, carries a prize purse of Rs 5 million. The Pro-Am event is scheduled for September 15. 

QA InfoTech, a fast-growing Indian software company, is the title sponsor of the series.

The tournament features some of the top professionals of the South Asian region such as Indian legend Jeev Milkha Singh, who returns for a full-field PGTI event after a year, along withother top Indian names such as Shamim Khan (2017 PGTI Order of Merit champion), Asian Tour regular Chiragh Kumar, Honey Baisoya (a double winner on the PGTI this year and currently ranked 2nd on the PGTI Order of Merit), Udayan Mane, Aman Raj and Syed Saqib Ahmed (all winners on the PGTI this year), as well as Sri Lankans N Thangaraja and MithunPerera (also winners on the PGTI this year).The host city of Noida will be represented by professionals AmardipSinh Malik (a two-time winner on the PGTI), Gaurav Pratap Singh, Vikrant Chopra, Rahul Bajaj, Arjun Singh Chaudhri and Pradeep Kumar.
