Geneva, 30th May 2011 - SPORTFIVE announced today that the invitation to submit offers for the media rights in Hungary for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and Rio 2016 Olympic Games has been launched.

Interested broadcasters or other companies that directly operate in the relevant media industry are requested to visit sportfive.com/olympicgames, a website dedicated to this project, where in-depth information about the sales process and the necessary procedures can be found. For any further enquiries they can also contact SPORTFIVE directly using[email protected]. The due date for submitting offers is scheduled for 4th July 2011 at 17:00 CET.

The Olympic Games enjoy a strong following in Hungary, in particular the Summer Games, where Hungarian athletes have traditionally collected a vast number of medals. Indeed, gold medals have been achieved at almost every Olympic Games since Hungary's first appearance in Athens 1896. Summer disciplines in which medal-winning performances have been scored include swimming, water polo, canoeing/kayaking, fencing and wrestling, amongst others.

The International Olympic Committee's decision to award sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE the broadcast and exhibition rights to the Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games in a total of 40 European territories marks a significant milestone in Olympic Games broadcast history - it is the first time that an agency will licence the sales of these rights.

SPORTFIVE is approaching each market on an individual basis, offering more flexibility to potential interested media partners than ever before. New opportunities for exploitation will be available for both broadcasters previously involved, and potential new partners and will spread across all media platforms, including free-to-air television, pay television, the internet and mobile.

Hungary is one of the most developed and competitive television markets in Central Europe. Most homes in urban areas benefit from access to multi-channel services, and high public interest in viewing the Olympic Games is anticipated across the country.
