LONDON: Formula 1 has had a mixed year of 2018 off-the-track. With the end of the season on Sunday in Abu Dhabi not considered, global sports marketing research firm Nielsen reports that television audiences have been predominantly the same as 2017, which stands at 1.3 billion across the globe.
However, some races saw strong audience growth this year with the showcase Monaco Grand Prix leading the way with 110 million viewers, a 10% rise from last season. It still fell short of the 2016 season, which recorded 112.2 million for the race.
