NEW DELHI: Clearly indicating that politics is her retirement "go-to", star Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP, on its official Twitter handle, posted a video of Nehwal joining the party at its headquarters in the capital in the presence of senior party leaders.

On the professional front, Saina was last seen playing in the Thailand Masters tournament, where her performance remained less than impressive as she was knocked in the very first round.
