LONDON: The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has unveiled a new Strategic Roadmap at its 2021 General Assembly Monday, which provides potential future hosts and sports with the renewed flexibility to be innovative and creative in delivering the Commonwealth Games.

In a series of recommendations to increase hosting benefits and make the Games even more cost effective, whilst engaging new audiences, the Commonwealth Sport 2026-2030 Strategic Roadmap invites future hosts to explore innovative concepts, including co-hosting and mass participation event.

NEW DELHI: Commonwealth Games Bronze medal winning shuttler Chetan Anand has been named the brand ambassador of India's first-ever badminton brand 'Transform', which launched virtually on Wednesday. Anand, a former world no.10 and the men's singles Bronze medal winner at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, is also an Arjuna Awardee.

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Monday confirmed it has submitted a bid for the inclusion of T20 women’s cricket into the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham 2022. The bid, which has been made in partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), will see one of the world’s fastest growing women’s team sports apply to become part of the Commonwealth Games family.

GOLD COAST: The Commonwealth Sports Universities Network (CSUN) celebrated its official launch on the Gold Coast, Australia, Tuesday, on the eve of the Opening Ceremony for the XXI Commonwealth Games.  The CGF partnered with Griffith University to debut the network, which aims to create a formal sporting partnership between the CGF and, initially, five foundation universities from across the Commonwealth.

This was stated Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
