WASHINGTON: The Special Olympics World Winter Games, planned for Sweden in February 2021, will no longer take place in the European nation. The reason is that the event's organizing committee has not been able to secure sufficient funds for the Games.

NEW DELHI: This is beyond ridiculous. Eleven years since Goa signed the Host City Contract and more than four years since the last edition of the National Games was held in Kerala, the state is seeking postponement number 4 (emphasis ours).

SHILLONG: Meghalaya on Wednesday signed the "Host City Contract" with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the 39th National Games 2022.
Following the signing of the tripartite agreement, to which the Meghalaya State Olympics Association (MSOA) is also a party, the state government handed over a cheque of Rs 45 million as contract fee for holding the event to the IOA.
